    Hi

I've been trying to design a website for my Djing business. I'm still in the design stage and I’m looking for some feedback on if it looks ok or crap....

All suggestions positive and negative would be helpful to point me in the right direction.

Here's a pic of the home page so far..

    Many thanks

Centre the page content when you get your design up and going.

Maybe separate the JukeBox Jives logo and the text in some way? A simple line will do it.

If you can, try and add more dynamic colours to it as well. Yellow isn't the easiest colour to read from.

This is a pretty nifty little tool for seeing how colours compliment each other.

Hope this helps in some way :)

The layout seems fine, it's straightforward and won't cause any hassle for visitors.

Rife with grammar and spelling errors, make sure you have a check over it before putting it online!

White on black text is hard to read. As is black on yellow (in the navigation).

You have two different names/brands; "JORS Jukebox Jives" and "DJ Jukebox Jives". Just use one, and represent it once on the site. No need to have the business name shown twice on the same page.

The only contact info you have is a mobile phone number. Having no landline can make businesses appear unprofessional. Confidence is built with having a landline number as customers feel you are accountable to a specific location/office.

You have no email address on the front page. Customers browsing your site will often want to just pop off an email rather than make a call.

You could benefit from a good photograph on the front page to again build confidence and give a face to the brand.

I'd agree with Wagon, the page should be centered rather than left-aligned.

Get imagery on the homepage and cut way way back on the copy

You don't need paragraphs of copy here - all that detail can come later in the website.

You want the home page copy short, snappy and to the point - and you want it to convey what you're all about in a couple of short sentences/paras.

    Along the lines of

Got a function to arrange? Want to make sure your guests are tapping their toes and shaking whatever bootie they have to shake all night long?

Well with a DJ from [company name] you can be sure your dance floor will be bursting at the seams well into the wee hours. We cater for all occasions and all tastes and when it comes to getting people up off their chairs, our track record is simply second to none.

Now isn't that music to your ears!

Click on the links below to etc etc etc.
