Acer 5920G black screen problem

    Hi,

    I have an Acer 5920G that will not power on properly. below is the sequence.

    1. Press power - Acer boot screen comes on as normal.

    2. Select operating system - as this loads the screen goes black (not a glimmer)

    3. Laptop sounds (fans are running) and appears to be runing with black screen.

    I have removed the battery and held the power button for 90 seconds.

    I have changed the hdd, this has had no effect on the outcome.

    I would appreciate any help trying to solve this matter.

    When you say select operating sytem, do you mean ''Start Windows normally'' or have you multiple OS on the machine?

    What OS are you running?

    try ownloa a linux live cd and try to run that and see if that works you can get one here http://www.ubuntu.com/
