Just wondering if anyone knows of any good offers going around just now - everyone tells me there are some greats but I'm having trouble finding them

One I did get though sounds great. Got a text for the following:

Palmerstown House, Johnstown, Co. Kildare - for the month of January - Thursday - Sunday they are offering golf, a grill and a drink for just €60 a head!! Apparently just give them a call

Played there before, its a great course if you haven't yet had the opportunity

Any other offers greatly appreicated :)

Forgive me if i don't get excited about that one. Good course, but 60 euro is still too much for this time of year. Another third-a half off sounds about right.

You should check out The Heritage, not too far down M7/8, Played there Monday 3rd Jan. 35 euro golf + irish stew, found course in excellent condition. Was told offer is on weekdays until end of March.

This deal is €49 now which is a good offer in my book

€49 is a good deal, but only if the course is in good nick. Personally, I'd leave it for at least a few weeks until the ground warms up a bit.

Also bear in mind that there's an awful lot of walking between greens and the next tee so I'd strongly advise a buggy. However, if the fairways aren't up to scratch they'll make you stay on the paths, which is a real pain in the a**e to be honest.

Finally, and it shouldn't be a problem for too much longer, the fire in Kerdiffstown dump is literally next door (you'll see the adjoining fence along the first fairway) which, depending on the wind the day you're playing, could really affect your game/health. The fire brigade have been out there all week trying to put it out, but even without the smoke, there is sometimes a strong smell coming across the course - just sayin'...

All in all though, its a great course and a real challenge. The clubhouse is beautifully kitted out and the food is very good. Unfortunately, you won't be overly troubled by other golfers, as the place is usually deathly quiet...

€65 on Sunday for the Palmer Course at K Club in Singles Stableford. Anyone play it? Another one on Sunday. Would be tempted

if the place is so quite whay are they Palmerstown not dropping their prices . i would like to have the opinton of paying 35/40 euro for a round of golf instead of having to pay €60 for golf / food and a drink. I would love to play there somtime but not at those prices. even their open singles are €60 . why dont they drop their prices to €35/40 for this time of year and have a full course than having €60 and an empty course. whoever is in charge of pricing isnt doing a good job. last summer Adare had an open week for €50 a few weeks after the JP and were getting 140 people a day

Played Palmerstown last Saturday was €45, course in great nick I have to say could not fault it but that smell coming from the dump really was sickening especially on the stretch from the 2nd to the 4th
It was really quite, one of the lads was running larte and when we went in to say it to them they said not to worry that it was not busy

Good to hear that Dero - €45 is a very good price for that course, especially if its playing well and you're not under any pressure from other golfers.

Hopefully the smell from next door won't be an issue for too much longer.
