Just wondering if anyone has experience of any particularly good hairdressers at any of the HOC salons? Are any of the salons better than others from people's experience?

I always go to Suzanne on the quays, I recommend her to everyone! She's the only hairdresser I've ever had who's listened to what I wanted and has done exactly what I asked for.

Thanks for the reply Babybirch. Is she one of the regular stylists do you know or is she more senior? Thanks!

I've been going to Lisa on Liffey Street for the past 6 months and she's brilliant. I was lost after my regular hairdresser left over a year ago, but Lisa is great. I'm incredibly particular and probably the most annoying client ever, but she always takes the time to make sure I get exactly what I want!

Thanks G68. Do you mind me asking what type of hair do you have?

Mine is very long (and in very bad condition) and is straight and most importantly thick, which most hairdressers seem to hate and hence (I think) the generally **** cuts I get. I hate the Toni and Guy 'choppy' look which all hairdressers there seem to give me every time I go, but equally I don't like straight cut across as my hair is too thick for it.

I love jennifer anniston's long 'layered' look, but everytime I take in a pic to a hair dresser they go 'oh well your hair is a bit thick. It's not ridiculously thick I don't think...I just don't want to cry after the hairdressers like I usually end up doing :(

More senior, I think she's a style director. I used to go to Toni and Guy too, they always just wanted to straighten my curly hair and cut it into a mullet

    Hi

I went to Liffey Street last week for the first time. Had a voucher from Boards deals. I have to say I found them brilliant. Had a cut & highlights from Vanessa. My hair is shoulder length with a curl in it, the cut is perfect. I also had a conditioning treatment which sorted out the dryness. I'm going back.

Darren in the capel street salon, one word, AMAZING! I have mad thick hair and its really long, he always does a gorgeous cut and on request thins it a little for me to make it more manageable.

Echo this. Darren's been cutting my hair for a couple of years. You have to be very careful to let him know how much you want taken off though....so he doesn't get carried away :)

I have curly hair - and he really has a handle on how to cut it.

Carla in the branch on the quays is fantastic for really paying attention to how you want your hair cut and Nadine is also very good and is really good at colouring!
