Another NAT type thread (Long post)

I've spent the morning trolling through posts on boards and various other sites, trying without any luck to get from NAT 3 to NAT 2. Before I start, I'm with BT or Ireland online (now Vodafone, I think) and I'm connecting via wireless (80% signal strength). It's not possible for me to connect with a wired connection. I'm using a ZyXEL modem and have a Belkin wireless G router hooked up to it.

I can manage to play games online as long as I'm not a host. When playing in a party, I might be able to play a few games before I get kicked and then have terrible hassle rejoining the group. I was playing for a long period last night and after being kicked, one of the lads mentioned the NAT problem to me. I can play COD, Battlefield, Demon Souls online - but not Red Dead, Uncharted...

I've given my PS3 a static IP and tried port forwarding with both with modem and the router. I tried adding the PS3 to the DMZ on the router, but that did nothing. I've managed to get UPnP enabled on the console but I still end up with a NAT 3. Finally I tried mickdej's NAT type 1 youtube video (using both Vodafone and BT PPPoE usernames and passwords, but whenever I tested the connection I the PS3 couldn't find the IP address.

After spending 5 to 6 hours working on this today with no luck. Is there something I've missed out on doing?

Might be wrong on this, but i seen it somewhere before to leave your upnp disabled. Just for the hell of it, can you try out another internet connection somewhere, like a friends house or get a different isp on trial and see.

I'll play around with the settings again tomorrow, but it looks like a different isp might be the only way to solve it. Got in touch with Vodafone but they're having nothing to do with me.
