Remember when Bertie was pushed, one of the reasons was all the scandals that were following him around made it virtually impossible to accomplish government business.

Has the same stage not been reached by Cowen?

FitzPatrick issue to dominate Dáil exchanges
The Dáil returns from its Christmas break this afternoon, with the first session expected to be dominated by the controversy over Taoiseach Brian Cowen's contacts with Sean FitzPatrick.

They're barely there as it is, and when they are there, there seems to be sod all focus on "recovery" or "(actual) government business".
    Just scandals.
