PS3 wont read discs, bluray fcuked!

Im sure theres been loads of threads on this but just looking for advice..:mad: Black Ops has been freezing my ps3 alot lately and I think thats the cause.. No disc works even dvds..Any chance I could ring Sony and they could give me a new one?.. Anyway out of this at all without paying any money to get it fixed?:o If not I might just buy a slim..

As you say, done loads of times already. Sue the search facility for disk, blu-ray etc. They give you all your options.

Yeah I rang and they told me this...Doing a system restore now, doubt it will work though.. If it does I might just trade it in for a slim before it goes bust again.:P

I had a similar problem and took the hoover to all vented areas and it did sort it .

I had the same problem and had to replace the laser.
I followed the instructions here found out which laser i needed

then I bought the laser from here

I installed it and works fine again

Ya adverts i picked up one a while back as a spare with a broken blu ray drive for 30 euro

When you take the ps3 apart you'll be able to see which one you need and then order one. Its easy enough if you take your time.
