Where to get 55" LED Tv

    Hi Guys,

Im looking at getting a HD 55" LED Tv for my setup at home. My budget is €1200- €1300. Now i know that doesnt seem much but i have an address for both the US and UK, and can get it shipped over no problem. I would prefer to buy it in the UK or Ireland just in case i have problems with TV and im guessing the shipping for a TV from the states is going to be expensive.

I also dont know if there would be a problem with US customs and getting the TV out. Ive looked in richersounds and have some of the lads looking for TV's for me but i think they are going to offer me this. I think the 21:9 ratio is going to be crap for gaming (which is what i will spend most of my time doing on it)

So any advice guys would be greatly appreciated. If you could recommend some TV's or websites that sell nice TV's it would be great.

    Thanks!!!

The US use a different format to europe i wouldnt look to get one from there, i bought one from directtvs.co.uk which are cheap enough but i dont think you will get a 55" LED for 1300 maybe ad another 500 to that!

21:9 on a TV is a waste of time. 90% of the content will be 16:9, with most of the remainder being 4:3.

If you want a 55" LED you need to double your budget.

Forget about getting a TV from the US.

US is 110v at 60hz , over here its 220/240 at 50hz , and any TV you ship in will need a very expensive , not to mention ugly , mains and frequency transformer for it to work here.

Also you have the issues of inputs and input compatibility, you wont have any problems with the likes of HDMI , but you will with analog connections due to the different frequencies and the fact that the US dont do Scart , so if you have scart sources , forget about it ,no US TV has those.

Also, the US use ATSC for digital rather than DVB-T/T2 so the tuner would be useless.
