Can anyone tell me how good the Toyota Auris is for fuel consumption. Was looking at a nice 1.4 Ltr one the other day. Just wanted to know if they have good MPG. Thanks

    Petrol

    Diesel

These are the manufacturers claimed figures so can be a little optimistic

I dont know if you are still interested but I am obtaining a nice 44mpg extra urban 1.4ltr petrol, Tires 37psi. I was hypermiling a bit so I had to work for it. But it's great car to hypermile with. And this is measuring with pen and paper, the mpg from the computer was very accurate to this btw.

37 psi is a bit high isn't it?? i thought typical pressure is about 32 psi (Could be wrong)

I have a set of Dunlop's that are 30psi - 45psi. Generally fine for smooth roads and motorway, at no more than 120km. Would be uncomfortable on anything bumpier though.

Overinflating tyres can ruin ride comfort, and more importantly reduce braking performance.
