Hi Guys,

The battery life is rubbish goes from 90% to shutting off in less than 10 mins!

The laptop has a 17 inch screen.

I am looking at a replacement battery and am wondering if getting a 7200 over a 4400 will make a difference as in can the 9500 utilise a 7200 battery?

I would like to get the 7200 as in theory it means more browsing time etc.

There should be 8800 12cell versions as well.

The higher the MA and the more cell's in the battery the longer the battery should last only thing is some of the batterys on the likes of ebay are rubish and only last a week on till they dont hold a charge at all so be careful were you buy a battery.

Thanks guys the 8800 sounds like a winner.
I'm assuming price is not the only guide to quality?
How much would one expect to pay for a good 7200 or 8800 battery?
Any recommendations?

i presume your talking about a dv9500 ?

Theres only two official batterys for the dv95xx series:
448007-001 Battery pack (primary) - 8-cell lithium-ion (Li-Ion), 2.2Ah, 63Wh
451868-001 Battery pack - 8-cell lithium-ion (Li-Ion), 2.55Ah, 73Wh

goto http://partsurfer.hp.com put in your PN located on the bottom of your product and see if HP ever made a higher cell battery (i dont think alot of the consumer line products in 2006/7/8 had extended genuine batteries). As always, if youve a carepark and you get a non genuine battery and your laptop develops a problem power related you may void your carepack.
