Good news Friday?

It seems to be nothing but bad news these days. Every second thread seems to be about a depressing topic and even the upbeat threads get dragged down with negative comments. Remember the days when After Hours was the place you went to to be cheered up, have a good laugh and a bit of friendly banter with others. So how about this. For one day only (this Friday possibly?) no one is allowed post anything (comment or thread) which is in any way negative. No talk about the banks, no talk about our useless government etc.

So how about it? Shoot me down about the idea if you want. It might be daft. Or it might not. It could be a bit of fun for one day only.

Mods, what are your opinions on it?

Well i actually agree with the OP - too much misery around here.
I think some other user put it best when they said its like aertel page 103.
Good news friday gets my vote!

Without bad news, there is no good news.
If there was just 'good news', we'd probably pick holes in it And try find fault at it, thus giving rise to 'ok news', so bad news is pretty much good news if you want good news.

good idea. when i came back to ireland 6 months ago, the first thing i noticed was how miserable the news had got, both TV and radio. i'm convinced its having a knock-on effect on the general population.

We could do without being told how we're all gonna die and be broke and all that jazz, evey single day!

And as they say, ignorance is bliss!

Good idea. Sounds like fun!

Any negative thread started that day could be locked until Saturday and negative posts removed. Might be a busy day for the Mods but it could be a great day for After Hours!

The variation in suicides by day of week is actually greater than any seasonal variation. In the United States, more people die by suicide on Monday than any other day; Saturday is the day with the least number of suicides.

ghin_crin suggested doing it Monday and I'd be fine with that. Bit late now to get it organised for tomorrow aswell. Also, no Mod has given any input. I would really like to hear from them but for some reason they arent getting involved. But looking at the poll it seems to be something the folks on AH want to do!

I think it would be fun even unofficially. I do not want to work without a distraction tomorrow!
