I applied to mark mock exams for Examcraft this year.

Does anyone who has done it before with them know when the normally contact people?

Also, I know the pay is not high but whats the rate like for JC HL subjects?

Finally, a teacher in school told me that at the end of the marking they just send you a cheque for the gross amount earned and you have to sort out the tax yourself (!) - is this true?

    Thanks

Just curious, what sort of experience is necessary to apply for mock corrections?

the rate isnt hugely differentcompared to junior cert but where the difference lies is in other expenses, eg fuel, overnights, conference, admin etc. if include all them theres much bigger difference.although with mocks you dont have the added pain in the **** of recorrecting!

Do you think that it would be possible for a PGDE student to apply for correcting these exams? Obviously only Junior Cert ones?!

I applied for this too - would be interested in knowing the answer to that tax question too - don't fancy doing my own accounts to be honest!!

Well, the application form asks you what correcting experience you have and also what teaching experience you have. So I would guess that positions are allocated firstly according to experience and then according to availability in various subject areas. It is fine to have no experience correcting, but you would have a better chance with no experience if you teach a subject there is a demand for.

What is the rate for J.C? That's what I have applied for. What is the story with over-nights and conferences? Where/When?

As I said above, is it possible to apply? Yes. Is it likely you will get any work? Depends on your subjects and your teaching experience. Go for it, what's the worst that can happen?
