Toyoto hilux filter light

    My friend has a 07 toyota hilux

    After filling her up and driving 40 km The fuel filter warning light came on,he changed the fuel filter in it but light has still stayed on, any suggestion for what is happening here. Thanks

    Its a light beside your diesel gauge that comes on to tell you there is a problem with fuel filter, fuel filter has been changed but it is still staying on.

    What mileage is on it, that light would usually only come on with bad/watery diesel. Also i have seen spurious filters that dont fit right and draw air, but that shouldn't bring on the filter light

    I would say the diesel would be the most likely culprit.

    You fuel filter should be changed every 60,000km .

    It has hundred thousand km,fuel filter was never changed before but got spurious one fitted now, He got his diesel from a very reputable garage. ? thanks

    disconnect the battery for 10 mins to reset light, may need to be plugged in to a computer if that doesnt work

    He tried that with the battery, He will bring it to a toyota garage tomorrow, thanks for your help
