Repairing a DJM?

Just a quick question to see if its possible/worth replacing the faders in a DJM 400??
One of them seems to be sticking or catching in something...they have never been top quality of course but right now I couldnt see myself spending a grand on a DJM 800 or A+H equivalent!

Can faders be replaced? and if so, do I have to go for the same type again or could I get a different make put into it, to make them more stiff?

    Thanks anyway!

Yes they can be replaced, not sure about the stiffness but i guess a new one should be tight enough. You can get faders with a different characteristic curve also.

Any good online stores to look in? Or a particular model I should consider??

You can get spare parts from here : http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR387159

Odds are that the fader is just dirty, get yourself some contact cleaner from most electronic stores, pop the fader out and clean the runner. This will only cost you about €5 and taking a fader out of a DJM is a piece of piss. If that doesnt work then just replace the fader!

Also recommend getting a can of compressed air. Blow out each fader. I do it periodically and it seems to help.

I think that fader is only the fader and not the pcb, in other words you will have to de solder the your current one off and then solder that on, easy if you can do basic soldering
