Here is what the Earth's rotation looks like from space -

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxrIMHKobk0

The Earth has an intrinsic rotation which means that it has a maximum equatorial speed of 1037.5 miles per hour which diminishes to zero rotation at the North and South poles,at the equator daylight turns to darkness rapidly while further towards the poles they experience longer twilights as daily rotation becomes slower,at the latitude of Ireland it is roughly in the range of 650 miles per hour.A person traveling to regions towards the equator, even Spain, knows th effect well.

On the other hand,an observer will see the same face of the moon during any time of its orbit of the Earth, this means that the moon has no intrinsic rotation.Walk around an object while keeping the same side to the center and this imitates the orbital behavior of the moon.To believe that the moon rotates would be an affliction of the mind and the one and only person to propose it was a Royal Society empiricist in the late 17th century -

    http://books.google.ie/books?id=gB2-Hqdx_LUC&pg=PA580&dq=newton+moon+rotates&hl=en&ei=SQJ5TJP1FYTKswadoL2yDQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CDkQ6AEwAw#v=onepage&q&f=f

There are plenty of people in Ireland who are slaves to Royal Society thinking given that a person looks out at the moon, concludes that it doesn't rotate and moves on.I have actually seen people force themselves to believe in lunar rotation only because Isaac Newton proposed it yet as an Irish person who is capable of thinking things through I am amazed, not at the opportunistic and astronomically inept Newton, but at those who actually admire his ideology, even here in Ireland.

Let those who believe in lunar rotation defend it but common sense should intervene and the only possible conclusion can be drawn,it doesn't take a doctorate,it takes mere common sense. If we as a nation are to stand on our own,we had better change our way of thinking and rather than being slaves to one person's wayward imagination ,we make our own mark and not stand for nonsense that mocks real astronomy and real science. It begins by looking out the window at the moon and making a basic interpretative insight that the moon orbits the Earth and does not rotate.
