    Hi all,

    I'm working in Spain and I'm looking to buy a cheap LHD car in Ireland on Irish plates and drive it down. Second hand cars are too expensive down here for what I want.

    Any ideas where to look? Tried Carzone and Donedeal already.

    Other option is to pick something cheap abroad such as in Germany.. lots of cheap cars over there http://www.mobile.de is a good site to look at.

    Be careful about Irish insurance companies as most will charge a small fortune to insure cars abroad for more than 30-60 days..

    Thanks guys but I'm looking for the cheapest thing that works (within reason). Just need something to get me in and out to work, and something that I can leave in Spain when I finish there.

    I've heard that the spanish police take a very dim view of people driving around on foreign plates and foreign insurance for any length of time.

    Best to investigate that before you waste money on some LHD heap only to have it confiscated later on

    Big cruisers are really cheap in Belgium - you think our motor tax is bad ya wanna see theirs! Belgians keep their registrations for life though but a garage can organise you a temp plate no bother.
