Can anyone tell me if you traveled to the usa twice in the space of one year will you have any problem getting a second holiday visa?

No problem. I travelled twice between mid 2009 & early 2010 and had no problems. As long as you didn't overstay your holiday VISA you should have no worries. Just fill out the ESTA form again.

It now costs $14 for Visa Waiver from the ESTA website. If you have already been just get your previous application number and check when it expires on their website. If it doesnt expire before you travel then you are good to go...

You will probably be asked questions at passport control but if you bring your return tickets and some evidence tying you to Ireland (letter from employer, renter, bank statement etc.) you shouldn't get hassled too much. Also, maybe bring proof of what you'll be doing on your trip, something that looks touristy, like tour tickets, or events or a car hire or something.
