During the cold spell I tried to reset the fuel burning heater (no joy).
Since then I have the follwing problems, R/C/L will unlock only, immobiliser and heated rear screen not working, dash lights for indicators, mainbeam, front & rear fog lights not illuminating.
The warning lights for doors/ boot hood are on constantly.
I recall someone mentioning a mechanic in the Cork area who has the correct diagnostic tools for rover 75, his contact details would be appreciated.
    I've checked all fuses etc.
    Any ideas guys.

Would Denis and Mary Ryan be worth a call, I think they used to sell them new.

It was me who mentioned the Diagnostic Gear. Dennis and Mary have the official Rover Testbook, but they'll charge main dealer rates. Aiden O'Leary has a Launch X431 which does all the same, he does the work I can't do on my 75 for me, based in Ballincollig. Give him a bell on 087 820 1113 and tell him Owen sent you. He's also got access to a company in the UK who bought a lot of Rover's parts when they went bust.

Good to meet you this morning aujopimur, glad between all of us we managed to get to the bottom of your problems. Nice 75 Tourer, pretty unusual colour too!

What was the problem? And what colour is the tourer? :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,683 ✭✭✭✭Owen

Problem was with the FBH, whoever wired it in the last time (There's a hole under the armrest indicating timer) screwed it up and it's feeding back into the canbus. Was throwing up all sorts of errors.

Tourer was very nice! That sort of pale green colour (You'd think I'd know it, but I'm too lazy to fire up the paint software to find out). It's cool to see more Tourers on the road. That's the 4th one I've seen now in Cork including my own. Two silver, one Navy and this one.

Moonstone green? Kinda silvery pale green?

That's the one! Really understated but really suits the car IMO.

    Lovely colour.

Now that I think about it, I've never seen a black 75 either.

Most I see in Dublin are black. See a surprising amount of nicely specced facelift one's up here too.

disconnect battery for 15-30 minutes, this resets ecu, sometimes it goes crazy, cold may have affected it.

Did you read the thread McWhirter? It's sorted. An ECU reset is a good idea though, we did try that after Diagnostics failed to show any codes.

I did after I sent my message, thanks for the reminder

You will be seeing another Tourer in Cork now...
As i have just purchased one from County Limerick.
She is a beautiful wine color.
She is the best car i have ever driven, over the moon with her....
I could be on here again, with any nigglies i have trouble... (Hopefully they are at a minimum)
But i do have an issue with key fobs.
Both keys are not working, the batteries and micro switch are both fine as both keys are lighting up.
The rear glass hatch needs a small job done too, as the switch is taped up.
Im hoping that the two are related... any ideas would be appreciated, apart from these niggles, the car is awesome....

Good luck with your R 75, I have mine for about 3 yrs, moonstone green (light metallic green). Normally at this stage of ownership I'd be looking around for a replacement, but this time nothing else takes my fancy, so I don't see a change coming anytime soon.
The R75 & ZT owners forum is worth joining for infomation and tips, there's also a R75 ROI/NI page on facebook.
