This has got to be one of the most exciting fights of the year, both of these guys are warriors, it's a real pick'em fight, who do you think has the edge?

I favour Donaire in a big way here.

For a long time now I've thought Montiel is overrated and ok while his Hasegawa victory was an excellent result he was getting hammered until his left hook pulled him out of trouble.

Montiel is definitely not what I'd call a "warrior", he's more a skilful boxer who gets quite negative when he's on the receiving end. And if this all sounds unjustified I have to admit it's mainly based on the Marc Johnson fight which was a number of years ago. He seemed to me to have the skills but not the will and at the very top level that's always going to be found out.

Having said that Donaire hasn't set the world on fire (in terms of quality opponents) since his destruction of Darchinyan, but that win alone is of such high quality, that you'd have to fancy him here when the going gets tough.

Donaire by UD or very late stoppage.

This is coming up this weekend can't wait to see it... feel Donaire's just got too much on Montiel. Don't think it's on tv though, will have to find a stream

Nonito has a beautiful style, really looking forward to watching him again.

I was picking Donaire too, but the weigh in pics are worrying me.

I backed Nonito a few weeks back, but I think I'm going to cover myself with Montiel by KO now. If they're both 100% though, Donaire wins

    ???????
Looking at the pictures I think Donaire looks the stronger and definitely his face looks far less gaunt than Montiel's.

Ya I think Donaire looks more filled out alright but maybe it is the ripped appearance of Montiel that is worrying pbffan.

I think Nonito will have too much for him anyway, classy boxer.

Wow, that left hook nearly took Montiel's head off.

Ref should have called it off immediately when Montiel got up, he was out on his feet but at least it didn't continue for much longer.

    What a great talent.

Beautiful performance from an elite boxer.

The big left hook actually landed as he was taking a straight right himself. In fairness to Montiel, I've no idea how he got up considering how his legs did a crazy mid-air 'walk' while lying flat on his back.

    Donaire really is the business.

I did put a fiver on Montiel by KO on Betfair, nearly 5/1, but the 20 I had on Donaire by KO @ 6/4 in Paddy meant I still won :)

Looks like that shot actually put a dent in Montiel's head

I'll never know how he got up from it

Donaire is a big Bantamweight as well, plenty more divisions for him to move up as well as he has scary power.

This appears from watching you tube to be nothing new for Donaire, he has performed this technique successfully in several different fights, with a near KO each time. What is he; south paw?

Whatever his boxing style, he has a powerful left hook.
