Is it just me or was Black Ops campaign mode very short, seemed like i was just really getting into it and then it ended! :(

Is it shorter than the previous ones or my imagination?

I tend not to rush to play the single player tbh...

With MW2 and also this - didn't notice too much of a difference when I did get around to it though..

I suppose for me, the value for money end of things was always sorted by virtue of the the amount of time online I got in each game...

Plus I suppose, this also has "zombies" to keep ya occupied :)

Ha yeah that's true, I always like to finish off the campaign before i start playing multiplayer just to get it out of the way and also get practice and know the game well before i start kicking ass online! :D

The last mission was amazing i thought and the story was very good but it just really left me wanting more! It was getting late last night finishing it up so i suppose its a good thing!

its what, 6 hours? thats pretty average these days, stuff like Assassins Creed or big adventure games might go longer, although Assassins Creed is padded out with too many collect em up sections, damn feathers!

the multiplayer will give you months so thats where the real focus of games are these days. I do love me a good single player game though, God of War, Metal Gear, Uncharted etc ( I know UC2 has MP as well but its the single player thats worth buying the game for)

It's not how long it is . It's how you use it ;)

I got it for Christmas and tbh didn't even play to the first save point - I just wanted to see if the controls were any different to MW2 for Multiplayer!

First few missions I thought... this is a bit s**t.... Started to really get into it and then.... a crap ending!! Wasnt happy but as others said, its all about multiplayer, months of gametimes :pac:

They've done the whole "about to die, then boom, distraction" thing way too often in CoD I think. Story was a decent length for games these days. Not that that's very long though.

A longer story mode wouldnt go amiss though...its not all about multiplayer.

COD4 got the balance perfect, SP was long enough where you felt you got your games worth but not overlong where you just wanted to get it done, I was just withered wiht Blops story mode by the end, not nearly as compelling asn MW1 and 2's.
The COD games all follow the same mission structure now, thats why stuff like One Shot One Kill stand out, they're not "oh look, millions of respawning enemies, why thats handy, here a new weapon conveniently lying around this missile silo, lets use that!" variety.

theres the play through on veteran if you want more challenge. Some areas can be very cheeky with gaps between checkpoints making replay painful in places. Overall I found this to be the easiest vet walkthrough campaign compared to the last 2, nothing really challenging and only a bit tougher than hardened. MW1 was sickeningley tough in places and MW2 also had some real show stoppers.

replay on recruit to pick up some achievements if you like?
