    Hi,
I'm going to London at the end of Jan for three nights. Just wondering how much spending money would I need? I'm going to do a bus tour, visit some attractions, go to Madame Tussauds, a west end show. Also, going to be going out at night. So is drink expensive, can anyone recommend any good bars? I'll be doing some shopping too...is Camden market good? Thanks

Camden is grand,go to the stables in camden for shopping, its very goood, the worlds end is quiet a famous pub to go to. Soho is excellent to go out in at night, bar italia does lovely coffee. The museums can take up a whole day, the natural history is the best to go to. Waxy o connors just off china town is another good pub,its huge but always busy

The attractions are all quiet expensive but I'd definitely recommend going to this website and printing off a few coupons. We got 2for1 tickets for a good few attractions and all you have to do to use them is show a train ticket (even if you don't need one during your stay, buy a 1 zone underground ticket and you'll save well over what you spent on it!) More often than not, you're not even asked for the ticket when you show the coupon!

If you're going to a show I would recommend walking around Leicester Sq and browsing the prices before buying. Some place can have a huge difference in prices. And I would definitely recommend "We Will Rock You" as a great night out!

The London Eye is good - if it's not lashing rain. If it's raining it's not worth it because you can't see anything.
Just beside the Eye we went to a Movie Museum - it was fascinating. They had costumes, scripts, props and loads of stuff from old and new movies. That took up a whole afternoon and my hubby and I both really enjoyed it.
Oxford St is good for shopping - the old reliable shops but much bigger than what you would find here so a lot more choice.
As far as I remember the drink was a bit cheaper than Ireland but not hugely.
Portobello Road is worth a look - a few different kinds of shops around there.
    Have a great time.

For the cheapos the Tate modern is free and great.

Then there's the bar at the top where you can get slightly over priced but nice beer and you have a great view!

Marylebone village is a nice spot for shopping and they have a few good bars.

Don't bother with breakfast in the hotel on a Saturday - just head for the fab Borough Market for delish food you can eat on the go !

I did the Original Bus Tour (hop on hop off) for £25 which gives you access to all their bus tours for 48 hours (a deal on until the end of Feb) and also a river cruise. Decent value I think.
