Speaker Height

I currently have my speakers raised high for DJ use, at about ear height (standing).

However, I've taken an interest in production recently, and when I'm seated I'm missing out on a lot of the mix, it's literally going over my head.

But if I drop them lower I'll have the same problem when I'm DJing.

Is anyone else in a similar situation? What do you sacrifice?

Bit of a silly question, I know, but one of those annoying problems that needs a solution.

    Thanks.

General rule is that the tweeters should be ear height. Shouldn't be a difference for DJing or production.
