Question regarding required time on welfare to qualify

i was on JSA for about 4 months last summer, iv to defer this year for various reasons. the required time on welfare to qualify is 9 months, would those 4 months count towards time on welfare or is the time counted ona year to year basis so iv to be on welfare jan - sept = 9 months or can i count the 4 months + 5 extra…

im afraid you need to be on a welfare payment for 9 months running.
