It was a 'prequel' called Rock and Chips. It followed Del, Trigger, Denzel etc as young lads (around 18 I think). It was rubbish.

Yes, bogmanfan. It was a pretty lame effort at flogging a dead fool AND horse. I'm not sure why the title, as 1960 is so long ago only a few will get the food reference. Apparently in Peckham then, they lived on a diet of rock salmon and chips. what that has to do with the trotters I don't know.
The BBC must surely have heard of the saying leave well enough alone, but apparently not. There's another helping of this dreary saga at Easter, I believe.

Um ... good news? It's in the entertainment news that US broadcaster ABC has ordered a pilot episode of Only Fools and Horses. I read a while ago that Steve Carell was very interested in remaking it for the US market, though I don't know if he's involved with this pilot.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

I read that story being reported on RTE TEN yesterday as well. Quite disappointed at this story I have to say.

A lot around the UK and in Ireland would have deep reservations about it being made in the US. The public want the past series to remain classics of a different sort not unlike the US office where it was a success.

I personally don't think Steve Carrell would make a good Del boy IMO.

That guy Jason Biggs would have been seen in the American Pie Movies if you remember not so long ago.

Do you think he make a good Rodney?
