Folks a large group of us are thinking about doing a week in one of these sites the first week in May. Has anybody been to one of these sites and is there anything we should be looking out for or recommendations?

We stayed in Château lez Eaux (St Pair-sur-Mer Site no: NR011 on their site) in 2006. It was very nice, a few minutes' drive from the beach, good facilities on site (including an indoor water slide, children's play area, restaurant and a shop (but drive 5 minutes into town and shop in a Carrefour for better value:)). We took a mobile home, they would be very comfortable for 4-5 people (2 adults+3 kids). They have tents too but I prefer my creature comforts :)

It's a relatively short run from Cherbourg (<2 hours) and Mont St. Michel is about an hour away.

We didn't see more of Britanny; we went the other way (towards Calais, via Normandy as I wanted to see all the D Day-related sights), but we'd go back again, once our newest arrival (6 months atm) is a bit older, probably going deeper into Britanny this time.

Book early would be my advice - we left it late (stayed in August, booked in July) so ended up paying through the nose for both accomodation and ferries.

I remember reading a while ago about someone booking with Keycamp Ireland, who discovered that Keycamp UK was much cheaper and mentioned it to the Irish office, who then told the person, that they too had "special offers" which were lower than the published price.

It might be worth doing some research, especially as you are a big group.
