Scrappage Birth Date Query

    Hi all,

Looking at getting a new Octavia which will be available next month in the showroom however they are saying that we can only get the car registered once our current car reaches its "birth date" in March.

A few other garages have said that they can take the car in upto 60 days beforehand and scrap the car afterwards then and the garage we are buying it from have said that if we can get a letter from the Revenue to say this all should be well but I'm a bit confused as to the entirety of the situation.

If anyone has any recommendations or advise on the matter, I'd really appreciate it as it would mean the car would be available in February to us and would save us having to tax the current car for 3 more months.

    Thanks!
