    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if a standard domestic sewing machine would be able to sew for example 4 layers of seatbelt type material together or is an industrial the way to go ?

    Cheers.

I think if you were going to do a fair amount of it you would be wise to go industrial. It might be possible to sew that thick with an ordinary machine if you took it very slowly and didn't have any folds, but it would not really be a practical solution. Either way you would want to check the thickness of the fabric stack and the clearance of the needle

    Thanks,
My search for a cheaply priced industrial sewing machine begins.
