I'd be interested, but prob not of a high enough standard.

    I'd rather a beginner, as I haven't played in a few years...early 30's btw but fairly unfit!!

Dont be so fussy Frank. I'd bet Stevecw is the sort of person who said he didnt think he did all that good in the leaving cert and got straight A's. Play him for gawd sake. If you really want a game.

I'd question Franks want for an actual tennis partner. Its posts like your reply that sounds trollish. And your taxi request in another thread looked dubious too. Maybe im wrong and your merely a frivoulous poster or someone who has no previous experience of forums and how they work.

maybe i am being too fussy... maybe putting a post on boards.ie isn't the best way of looking for a tennis partner... however i've done it in the past and got a some good games

when i did it before i found that it can be frustrating for both parties if the standard of play is far apart

tennis standards are subjective so it's possible that someone who says they are a beginner is very good but given that i've been playing regularly for approx five years i would say i'm not a beginner

i feel i must defend the honour of frivoulous posters they are a much maligned group, serious posters are way over-rated

i really did want a taxi on christmas day, i was willing to try anything!

Fair enough Frank sorry if i was harsh.
I still think you should take up the offer even as a once off 2 set game.

I also played someone from here and won 6-0 6-0 in every game i played and still enjoyed it immensly. I like the pulverisation if at all possible.

Im from the northside and a novice player with no formal coaching or regular play over the last few years but havent lost a set in several years now. I dont know if its because im the great untapped force of the opposition but ill go with the former:pac:

Ah no Frank is probably 100% right on this one. No point playing the likes of me if he is at a good standard. I haven't played in years and wud love to get back into it especially as with my new job I finish at 3 every day so need something to fill late afternoon/evenings.

So if anyone is a beginner or someone who hasn't played in ages or even an ok player who loves to win against likes of me I'd be on for it. Prob shud make a new thread but i'll see how this goes for a while.

Stevecw I'd be on for a game. I notice your location states Carlow though?. Maybe this is originally and your living in Dublin now?. Im living in north Dublin so Artane/Raheny would suit best but i work in sth dublin so could probably make something work around there too.
If youd like to pm me where you live and can play we could try to work something out?.

    All,

I'm in Ballsbridge, Herbert park courts are my local.
I am playing once a week and looking for another game.

I was previously a good intermediate but i'm back playing after 3 years out so a bit rusty.

Let me know if you fancy a hitting session.

    Rob

    All,

Just wanted to bump Marusia's message. We played this week and she is a very good standard, very consistent player. If you fancy a hitting session I would recommend sending her a message.

Look forward to playing you again soon.
