What's the deal with the battle of the bands (both of them)?

    What's the venue and format?

    What's the prize?

Are there heats and then a final or is it all in one night?

Its very simple our competition on the 3rd is open to anyone, this is full and will take place in The Pint Bar

The one on the 17th of February takes place upstairs in The Grand Social, Dublin's newly refurbished venue, really nice, this is not full yet but this for college students only, meaning at least one memeber of your band has to be in college to enter. there will be a camera crew here for some of the night intervewing bands and taking a few video clips of the night!!

Both competitions are ran the same but are just separated this way

Between 6 to 8 bands play on the night

Each band gets 10 minutres to set up and then 20 minutes to play

Free to enter competition but only requirement is for each band to bring a minimum of 10 fans along on the night

It is a judged based competition and theres a prize giving evey night

The prize is you get to go on this new TV music chat show on the City Channel, you get interviewed for about 5 minutes and then get to play live on the show in front of a studio audience. This show is also broadcasted on 5 other TV stations, so it will get your band lots of promotion.

The College Battle of the Bands competition will also take place in 4 differnet cities throughout Ireland and the winners of each competition go through to the grand final, prizes included here are days recordings.

All in all, you get to play in good venues to a big crowd with a chance of winning something at the end of it, all for free!!

Played one of these nights before. Good night and the place was jammed when we were on stage, perfect opportunity to be heard by lots of new people.

Hey all, we are a newly formed metal/rock band based in the west, we have lots of gigging experience between us, however we dont have many contacts to get us the gigs outside of Galway that we want and to play to an audience who actually appreciate good music
