out yesterday morn, into a field of winter barley.myself and the trusty old lab crunching over the frosty soil.bout ten min into the hunt the tell tail signs were bird on out of the corner in a load of thick brambles a screamin cock breaks, the lab brakes thight behind him, lift the simi auto follow threw to the noise, then nothing.Wat the f##k,so played about with it for five min thinking ive it sorted so on wards threw a wee wood, dog on,same again. Not again,on closer inspection the firing pin must have broke headed for home.As i made my way back we rose 5 teal 2 hares.Luckily i only live less than a mile from were we where, rang the wife she had made a bite to eat on my arrival.Changed the gun back out in under ten mins.Into a spud field bang up gets another no messing this time, one for the pot, added a pigeon too.Very pleased with the dog, home by launch time,as i wanted to take the rifle for a spin later which ended in a fox.The fox appeared to have crossed paths with a badger or dogs, the bottom jaw was disfigured
and thong was mauled, clean kill under the p7 at 160yrds approx. So a bad start good finish:cool:
