Have a 525d and thinking of getting engine remapped from 177bhp to about 220bhp.Are there any risks involved and would it invalidate my warranty on which i have 18 months left?

it may invalidate the warranty in BMW find out its remapped and say a turbo or dual mass fly wheel goes, how many miles are on the car? id leave it until the warranty is up.

    what year is the car?

i would highly recommend it, once you are out of warranty through.
although ive had my old remapped E90 320d in BMW and got a DSC control unit replaced under the goodwill gesture without any issues.

No not invisible at all if theyre looking for it and they'd know straight away on a test drive.

Not to hijack the thread but I'm also considering getting this done and was wondering what implications it might have on your insurance? I'm currently with Quinn but my policy is up before the end of the month and I will definitely be changing, more than likely to XS Direct as most companies won't even quote me (26 years old with 3 years NCB:confused:) and the ones that do want silly money.

Depends on your ins co, you'll have to ask them.
