Tax back & rent relief, filled out online. Getting paid via cheque or bank transfer?

    Hi there,

I'm about to fill out the tax back forms online for the past 4 years, as well as the rent relief. I noticed that my address stated is an old one, which is out dated.

I called the revenue several weeks ago to make an address change because I was afraid that if I fill the forms out online, that they will send me a cheque to the old address.
But as I noticed today, the address has still not been updated.

I am leaving the country in 9 days and wont be back for 12 months.

So I was wondering if I fill out the forms online and enter my current bank details, if they transfer the money to my bank account, or if they will send out a cheque to the old address.

    Cheers.

    Bump.

So no one here as ever applied for tax back online at revenue.ie? And can't tell me if they got paid by cheque or bank transfer?

    Seriously, no one?

    Okay, I'll rephrase my question:

When filling out the online forms for tax back at revenue.ie, will they transfer the money directly to the bank account, or will they send out a cheque?

    Hi,
I've only started using PAYE Anytime. Up until now though, I've always received a cheque!

If you include your bank details they should transfer the money directly into your account - i know thats how i received my refund both this year and last year. Revenue are keen to move away from all forms of paper so electronic transfer suits them better.

I am also having trouble with my address on PAYE anytime, it is still showing up as a previous address although i have requested it be changed.
