    Fantastic video here about using famous rhythms to write music. I've been in a bit of a rut musically as of late so I'm definitely going to try this out.

    Cool vid. I've actually been doing this since I started playing, like from two months in. Lifting phrases from lyrical melodies and drum fills, transposing other peoples riffs and licks and mixing up the notes. Always felt a little guilty about it, like I was cheating and worried someone was going to call me on it lol.

    If anyone ever does now I'll just go all "hey, Paul Gilbert does it too!" on them. :D
