Meeting Fellow Survivors

Inspired by Zombieland and Walking Dead .........

So Z-day has come and gone. 99% of the population is (un)dead and you have memorized all you have read on Boards. You have a safe house and some weapons, food, equip etc.

So what do you do when you meet a fellow survivor?

Is it better to stay away? try and join up? trade equip / info? Invite them back to your place? Remain hidden and follow them back to their place and rob them if you can?

Will it be different if you are part of a large group? Do you invite the new survivor inside? Check if they have skills you need?
Does it matter if they have no immediate skills to add to your commune? Will your decison change if they are a kid / granny / criminal ?

I'd watch his/her reactions first, if I found them while I was out scavenging I would probably stay back for a while and try follow them, knowing that would fail I would ask their intentions and if all seemed good (epending on their numbers) I MIGHT let them join up, we need to recreate civilisation eventually and the longer we leave it the worse it'll get.
that being said I'm not gonna take in someone who I don't think I can trust or rely on in terms of physical ability, if they can't keep up then I'll leave them.

the one exception would be to children (not meant in a weird way) but they are probably one of the most important assets you will eventually need for the survival of the human race. and as discussed in a previous thread a child who has been raised through the Zpocolypse will be a lot better off because all they will have known is survival.
