He had more chance of winning something with Mayo.

Will it be a case of "Will Armagh lose to Tyrone? Not if they have Billy Joe" ? :D

Anyone have any idea why he's moved? I wouldn't say that Carrickcruppen is a buzzing metropolis and I doubt it's a purely football move, with Armagh not making great strides. Can only assume it's something to do with a woman or work.

Bit of precedent, John O'Mahony's daughter Rhonda moved from Mayo to Armagh and played in an All-Ireland final, could be hope for Billy Joe yet!

It is probably only a townland, but is in suburban Newry, a city no less and a metropolis compared to Belmullet.

From Mayo, even Armagh is up.

I think there is a woman involved alright, whose family are stalwarts of aforesaid Carrickcruppen club.

Meanwhile, Billy Joe Padden has been speaking to the Belfast Telegraph about his decision to switch allegiances from his native Mayo to Armagh.
“I enjoyed my time with Mayo and was fortunate to win some honours but now I’m very much an Armagh player. I know that competition for starting places is keen but I’m prepared to make my pitch,” he said.

Even as a Galway man I'd have to question this?
