    Howya lads,

I'm looking for a reliable, independent mechanic in Cork.

I'm looking at buying a car down there, but being from Dublin, it's a fair trek down just to look at a car that might be in a heap. The car is in Mid/West Cork, I was hoping to pay a mechanic to have a look at it and tell me what he reckons...

Any thoughts would be very much appreciated,

    Cheers,

    C

West Cork could be anywhere from Inishannon to Bantry ;)
Being a bit more specific may be no harm.

I'm being a bit vague on purpose because I don't want the mechanic to end up being a mate of the dude selling the car! Cos then the whole thing is pointless!

It's a little over half an hour from Cork city...

Thanks KittyKat, that's a fair trek away from where the car is, do you reckon he'd be up for a drive to check out a car if I paid him? Or do you know him that well?

I know a couple of mechanics in Cork City, would be handy if you gave us the make of the car as some mechanics specialise in certain makes etc.

There's a particular guy in the City who looks after my cars if you feel like driving to the city PM me.

My car has clapped out, that's why I'm looking to get a new one so can't drive down, my plan is to get the train down to cork and a Bus Eireann bus out, hopefully paying a mechanic to meet me there and have a look, then hopefully driving home in a new car.

Sorry about all the vagueness lads, just don't wanna get dooped!
