IBC & Cupping Competition 2011

I'm looking forward to this years event 9th & 10th Feb - I only got into Twisted Pepper for an hour of last years event, though thankfully it was streamed. I've literally just completed my registration with Catex to ensure I can drop in for some of the 2011 IBC and Cupping Comp (though not sure you have to register).

I'm interested to know have we any other boards members taking part or judging? I can see both RE*AC*TOR and Ch2008 are in the mix - and a few of the 3FE barista's are also on the list.

I missed all of todays - been trying to watch the stream from earlier but it keeps falling over on me. Anyone have a list of who has made it to the finals?

All I can tell you is that Dave, 3FE Ger, and 3FE Pete-the-chef are all through to tomorrow. Well done lads!

Wow, fair play. I'll be logging on at 10am to catch a few of the finalists.
Good luck to RE*AC*TOR, Ger & Pete! Assuming Victoria Fitz got through then I'm guessing she is the one to beat based on her performance last yr.

Sorry, got a bit distracted, list for today is Ger O'D, Dave walsh, Pete W, Christina R, Victoria Fitz and Megmu. I don't know who's going at what time, other than Victoria has just started, and is has to be done before 2.

Yeah, was really impressive. I think everything was recorded, so you should be able catch it later today. He was 4th on stage, I think it was about half 12 if that helps?

Any ideas on when the results are announced?

If anyone is interested in seeing how the finalists got on at the Irish Barista Championships (including RE*AC*TOR) I've uploaded 5 of the six performances to our Facebook page.

I was a one of the judges in the finals and can assure you there were some amazing coffees brewed!
