Hi guys, quick question. I've had to reinstall windows 2007 and as a result I can't open certain documents on my laptop because when saved them on windows a few months ago, I'd them saved as 'word doc'...is there anyway I can convert them all in one go, to word doc 2003-2007 or whatever it is , without having to go through them one by one?

do you mean you saved them as a word 2007 docx, and want to convert them to word 2003 doc?

Which version of word do you have? If you have Office 2003, you can install the Office Compatibality Pack to get support for docx files in 2003.

They were typed in Microsoft word 2007, but I had them saved as 'Word Document' until I realised I should be saving them as word 97-2003 document.

I then had to reinstall microsoft word 2007, and now my 'word documents' won't open?

But you say that you have office 2007 installed

are you sure it isn't works ?

If you don't have Microsoft Word then you can open the documents with OpenOffice , it's free and can read docx

Right click on the document into properties to see what's it's type is / what the open with choices are

On older versions by the time you downloaded and installed all the patches and updates and service packs , you might as well have downloaded Openoffice, which can do an awful lot more than word viewer.
