hi guys,im having some trouble with my cibergun mauser sr,iv just given it its first cleaning(only shot around 150 bb's) and polished the barrel, set the hop up and left it a few days as i wanted to switch to 0.3g BB's before zeroing it in. so today i went to zero it in,started at around 25 feet just so i would know roughly where i am before i went to a longer distance, took 3 shots and had a grouping around 1.5"'s apart, zero'd scop in and first shop got a bulls eye, second shot 2"'s up 3rd shot 1.75"'s right and 1" up and 4th shot was right 2"'s and 2"s up.

i cant get a grouping of under 1" and this is only at 25 feet and indoor so i can only imagine what its going to be like the further away i am with outdoor elements involved. if anyone can help me or advise me i would greatly apreciate it

    thanks
    derek

.30's are too heavy for a 1 joule/328 fps gun use .25's for better more accurate results and when you clean make sure the hopup is completly of.

hop up was out but it is a little hard feeling to me??

i was under the misconception that .3g BB's are more accurate and stable over a distance

only on in the U.S where the rifles are 400 to 540 fps on snipers.Over here they are useless.

If the hopup rubber feels very stiff the cold might have got to it in the past few weeks, it won't apply as much spin if it's gone harder. If you leave it somewhere to warm a little for a while it might get softer and work better. This is only what I know and have been told. Others would know more than me on this.

As for .3g BBs, they can be more accurate, if you have an RIF thats over one Joule. In America some people use .3g BBs because of the higher power limits. In Ireland, you don't have enough power like .22 Lover said for .3s. You should take their advice and use .25g BBs. They should give you good accuracy and range. Also, a good brand like G&G are a good choice, I use them myself.

    How did you polish it?

You will never get the same polish job they did in the factory by hand, any inconsistencies would affect accuracy, a good clean is more than sufficient.

.3's would be more accurate than a .25, regardless of our limits as it would resist wind and so on more than a lighter bb.

using the polishing wand with cotton cloth and polish with the barrel out of the gun

Id say that might have just given a .01/2 of a mm more to the width on muzle witch would affect accuracy abit. But then again this is airsoft and you will never get groupings tighter then an inch without point blank shots so i would no be too worried about it in the field.

As Stercus said, polishing the barrel is unnecessary. Using the ram-rod with some lint-free cloth and a little water or silicon, followed by doing the same again with some dry cloth, is more than enough.

Also, as he said, .3g bb's would actually somewhat improve accuracy. The myth that they're the preserve of 400fps+ rifles is completely untrue. Their downside is simply that they travel slower than lighter bb's, so you may find hitting a moving target more difficult.

The hop being stiff, however, is directly associated with higher power rifles in that the hop rubber is a harder type than is required for use at our power limits. A softer hop rubber, which can be purchased in most airsoft stores (though for that rifle you may need to visit the online ones) will give a significant accuracy and range improvement.
The problem exists in many AEG and GBB rifles too, which is why the Guarder Clear and Madbull Shark rubbers are such a popular upgrade part (though these won't suit your rifle).

If you want a further boost to you accuracy, you may find an investment in a tightbore barrel to be a good idea.

If maximum accuracy is what you're after, and you're in the market for another rifle in the future, the TM VSR series would be by far your best bet. Without any upgrades or modifications, it will out-perform most 1J rifles, even upgraded ones.

If you're changing the barrel, you may as well change the hop rubber while you're at it. The difference of the two changes combined will make a very significant difference in your accuracy and range.
