I had a filling done that lasted well over 18 months before it started to break up, my dentist replaced it with another which fell apart in less than a month. It literally wore away to nothing. Whats the strongest filling compound availible? Tooth is a molar with a large cavity.

You may need a cast restoration like a crown or inlay/onlay. The more filling there is the less tooth there is to support and retain it so it is weakened and likely to wear/break sooner.
