Hi all, I am a new father since 1/12/10 can anyone tell me if I am entitled to any extra tax credits now that I'm a parent and if so, how do I go about getting these. Also when can you file tax returns for 2010 on sites such as paylesstax etc for additional income? Thanks in advance to whoever helps me.

There hasn't been a tax allowance for children since 1986/87 - that's before the present system of credits was introduced.

There is a tax credit for an incapacitated child, and there are additional credits for one-parent families, but I hope that's not what you are asking about.
