Okay this is a bit of a strange one.
Basically im a bit of a nervous flyer. Why, i do not know. I absolutely love anything to do with aviation (log on here 4-5 times a day;)). When i do fly i love it but i dont fly too often and its more the waiting around the airport that is the worst part for me.
Im going away to Tenerife in august and i don't want this nervous flying thing to ruin it so im going to grab a few cheap flights to the UK in the next few months because i know all i need is a few trips on a plane to settle the nerves.

Anyway enough of me and my nerves:D. Im just looking for which airports you's would advise me too fly too. I'll be going out in the morning and depending on what flight times i get i might have to hang around for my flight home that evening/night.
So, i dont want to be sitting in some shed of a building bored out of my head.
Any good ones for spotting? Museum nearby or anything?
In the end this is just a great excuse to visit some different airports:D. Ive only been to Standsted, Liverpool & Manchester (when i was very young) in the UK.

    Any help appreciated folks! :)

Liverpool is ok, short flight for ya if you're nervous, smallish airport so you won't have to walk miles between gates and plenty to do in the city.

Edit : Just read you've already been there

How about flying to Belfast, Cork or Shannon and getting the bus home.

    Hi,

Manchester would be worth another visit. There is a dedicated viewing area adjacent to a museum with a few interesting exhibits including Concorde.

East Midlands has some good spotting sites with an air park on the opposite side of the runway. Some interesting exhibits including a Vulcan, Lightning and a few other gems.

Prestwick always has a few weird and wild visitors, from Dreamlifters to military fast jets.

Heathrow is also worth a punt for a good day's spotting. Especially if a Westerly configuration is in use.

There are lots of options for a good day out.

Also a mile away from East Midlands is Donington Park racetrack, there's a pretty big racing museum there too.

Definately Heathrow/Manchester/Liverpool and Prestwick, tons of Mil goes thru Prestick and your bound to have an equally great time spotting at any of these locations.
