    Hi,

In general would it be worth learning a language to gain a job?
I was thinking of german as i done it in school so should not be too hard starting off. Are languages the way forward for gaining employment these days? Any info would be great, thanks.

Learn a language you like a lot/ love and find out what career you really want in life.
Loads of career questionnaires online to help you decide and career websites.

I was also going to ask this question and I also did German in school, do you think science/biotech/pharma companies would be more interested in a German speaker?

Well it depends on the area you want to work in and also where you want to work. If you want to work as a translator, in a call centre serving German-speaking customer or a German teacher or you want to emigrate to Berlin then having German will be vital. Personally I wouldn't go to the trouble of learning a language unless I knew for sure I would use it.

Again it depends on what you want to do. I've never had to deal with any languages other than English in my area and I don't expect that to change.
