Taken from January issue of What Satellite & Digital TV
ITV has launched two new HD channels - but you'll need to be a SKY subscriber to watch them.

The simulcast ITV3 HD and ITV4 HD are available on SKY channels 226 and 227, broadcasting a mix of native HD and upscaled SD programming.

Sister channel ITV2 launched in October on channel 225.

The channels are - at present - exclusive to SKY, though ITV chief executive Adam Crozier revealed in August that the broadcaster is in talks with other pay-TV providers including Virgin Media.

Imagine that, a commercial TV operator being disgraceful enough as to want to make money out of their channels....... the cheek!

It's just ITV, a red top broadcaster with more ad breaks than content. And the content is pretty awful.

If we loose ITV altogether, do not worry, there's always ITV-TV3 and ITV-3e.

3e is very different to ITV.

    3e isn't a TV3 clone. It's the old C6 bought by TV3.
TV3 is an ITV clone though.

They aren't on DTT in HD yet, but will be www.saortv.info

My MVision 300HD combo says that Truskmore in county Sligo is broadcasting RTE1, RTE2, TV3, TG4, 3e and RTE News Now in HD

My Samsung tv and TM 6900 Combo do not tell me that, only RTE2 is HD from Truskmore

    The schedules say otherwise.

Yeah, a fault with the Mvision's, they flag all the MPEG4 channels as HD.

Until recently they were all SD, they all went HD at the same time so I'll take your word for it.

I wouldn't recommend the Mvision HD300 Combo, that's for sure. I had to glue a 80mm to it's largest heatsink to stop it overheating or else it'll freeze up every few weeks. I can't record with the program guide or one touch record because it'll freeze until I cut the power. I keep it's firmware update for all the good it does.

No, you're wrong, they've always flagged them as HD (since 2009).

Considering all that's wrong with my Mvision I'll probably get something from Technomate but HD only appeared on my box shortly before Christmas.

From my experience, I'd strongly recommend that no one buy anything from Mvision because this HD300 Combo has been a right pain in the arse.
