    Hi,

    I read that time ago, with the time limit of 12 months of unemployment for higher education, the job facilitator could, putting you in NEAP, reduce this time to 9 months (a reccomandation).

    Now this limit is 9 months. Can the job facilitator still reduce it from 9 months to less still now? Or this is no more possible?

    They assess each case differently. I was a few months short, but the local facilitator "took pity" on me as I brought in every piece of info on my course and fought my case. I showed him that if I get this course I wont be a spounge anymore. he accepted this and approved me.

    Just to understand better, when did you have the meeting with job facilitator there was already the only limit to 9 months for third level edu?

    I had my meeting with him in july 2009.

    I was only on job seekers allowance for 6 months in july, and at the time it was 12 months, but it was possible for them to reduce it to 9 months in certain circumstances.

    I guess i got lucky and i got in on 7 months.

    However, he knew me as i use to install sky digital and did some work for him before going on job seekers allowance so that "might" have helped.
