I recently got GT5 and it wants to install 8GB so it can run smoother, I have the 40GB PS3 and have about 500MB on Downloaded games and maybe 45MB on pictures. Other than that there's just games saves which are only 3-10MB each. But yet when I check I only have 6GB free and 30 used up!

I can only assume they're installs from older games, is there any way I can delete these?

Under the Game section on the XMB theres a folder called Game Data. All your installs & dlc are here.Press X on any to see their info and size. Any you want to delete just press triangle & select delete

Yeah some of them are huge, i think Metal Gear 4 has between 11-15 gb of install space, I must delete mine actually

Game data is different from games saves too so you can always reinstall it again later and still have your savepoints.

Just installed a 500gb HD myself got it on amazon for €52. GT5 was maxing me out. I can see alot of games this year needing large installs.

If you have "home" installed and like me you never use it, then its worth deleting as its several gb's worth of wasted space.

It's the biggest waste of a programme ever. Don't even bother looking into it
