No Water in Cold Taps or Cisterns in both upstairs bathrooms - Airlock/Other cause ?

Each night the council are shutting off the water in my area for over a week now. In the last 2 days I have had no water upstairs in the cold taps or cisterns in the main bathroom and the ensuite, while the electric showers are "spitting" a certain amount of water. Hot taps are fine.

The pressure in the mains tap downstairs seems good when water is on during the day. Do I have an airlock(s) and how could I get rid off it, or is there some other problem, or do i simply have to wait until council restore normal supply. I never had any problems caused by nighttime restrictions before so I am a bit surprised by this.

    Thanks in advance

although ur cold water mains tap at the kitchen sink might seem ok its maybe nit powerful enough to fill the tank in the attic and at some stage it has ran dry causing your cold in all other taps/cisterns to airlock. can you check if the tank in the loft is full?

also I imagine the water pressure isn't good enough to give you a proper shower and I would advise that you don't use any electric showers while the pressure is being played with by the council - you will burn out your shower by running it dry

yes it does sound like an airlock in the cold, theres been a dozen air lock threads in the past 2 weeks, look a few pages back to see how to clear it

Thanks Sparkpea, Was an airlock, used a small tube from hot to open cold in bathroom sink and it cleared immediately.
