Slight problem with ESB...

Right so we moved in back in Sept, after about a month I received an ESB letter saying I had to set up Direct Debit or choose the other option (€300 deposit). I didn't ask the landlord to put it in my name, as one of the other lads I live with had agreed to take it with the view to switching to Airtricity.

Between us we never actually got it sorted, and didn't speak to ESB once. We received numerous letters from them, they told us in October we had 10 days before they would cut us off :pac: last time I was in the house (just before xmas) the leccy was working fine though.

Just before I left I picked up the mail I had (I'm never in the house) and just looked at it there and it's a bill for like €400, including the 300 deposit.

I understand we obviously have to pay for what we've used, and I'm not looking for a lecture because I know we should have sorted this out ages ago, but will it be as simple as phoning them up, arranging to pay the bill (but not the 300), and then phoning Airtricity?

That's if they haven't cut us off yet (haven't been in the house since I left before xmas).

Pay the €100 with in the time alloted. Not 100% on this and cant find the link online, but several power companys said they will not be cutting ppl off during the winter. Again dont know if the ESB is one of them
