I'm planning on changing the brake discs and pads on my 2002 BMW E39, on all 4 corners. I'm going to find a mechanic and I will supply the parts. How much do you guys reckon labour should cost for this job?

It depends on who you find.

If you get a guy who is paying rent, rates, insurance, equipment leases etc obviously its going to be a lot more than someone who's operating out of his back garden.

Go to someone reputable, pay up, get the job done right would be my advice.

If you go with the cheapest price, don't come back here moaning about what to do because something is not right.

You've got one of the best cars ever built - take care of it.

Cheers for your reply. I'm not looking for the cheapest mechanic, I'm just looking for a ballpark figure for said work.

    €100 - €150.

ive had just rear pads and discs fitted by an independant for 60 euro. Proper garage 2 mechanics working there. Ring a few places for a standard job like that they will be able to tell you a price off the top of there head
