it came in in may or june but if you had bought a car that would be considerd low emissions at the start of the year they would accept that

It was in July but all 08 registered cars avail of the new system (as long as new system is the cheaper option)

    Example

Jan 08 Passat tdi ...... 600 tax under old system
300 approx on new system so car is on new system from first taing after July 08.

Jan 08 Porsche 911. Max tax on old system €1600
€2000 payable on new system based on its emissions. Car allowed to remain on old system.

Note, cars regd after July 08 will be emissions based regardless so in effect an early 08 porsche (for example) might be more sought after than a later one.

    What mickdw said.

And remember that nearly all obvious questions are already answered in this forums' charter ;)

I spent quite a bit of time on this particular issue myself :D

I know I need to head to bed now.

I got the rules of the road links mixed up to thinking one was high quality English and the other was low. :pac:

LOL yeah I added those to the charter and I wasn't really happy with them either at the time. Not your fault!
